Mentoring is uniquely impactful and more critical than ever – sharing stories, lessons learned, championing, and even opening doors.  Mentoring offers a unique opportunity to provide support in a highly personalized way.  And we know it works:

  • Individual productivity increases by 88% with mentoring, versus 24% with training only.

  • Retention improves by 40-50% with mentoring.

  • 5X increase in promotions for mentored individuals.

  • 75% of executives say mentoring played a critical role in their careers.

So how can individuals and organizations get the most out of mentorship?   This month, we pulled together our best practices, tips, and insights to share with you.

MENTOR SPOTLIGHTS

Collectively, the Ceresa mentor community has provided over 2,000 hours of mentorship to rising diverse leaders. When asked what good mentoring looks like, the most common themes are:

  • Listen to understand

  • Share your successes, but more importantly, your failures

  • Instead of telling your mentee what to do, guide them to their own answers

  • Let your mentee know they're not alone

  • View your mentee as a whole person, not just a professional

Impact Report

The Ceresa community continued to grow our collective impact, despite the challenges of 2020. We hold ourselves accountable for this impact. We're proud to share our Impact Report.

I absolutely LOVED mentoring my mentee. She was motivated, engaged, and worked hard on her journey for the entire time.

I feel the tools provided are great for mentors to use and prepare for each session. I honestly wouldn’t change anything about the mentor experience from the Ceresa side. I am so thankful for the opportunity to give back, and I would absolutely mentor again…
