Watch the recording of our session with Sharon Miller
As part of our ongoing commitment to support our partners and community, we are offering upcoming webinars to support people leaders as they consider how to adjust talent and diversity efforts amid COVID-response and enhanced focus and urgency around racial inequity and diversity. We’ll bring together people leaders and experts in their field to discuss how we can all contribute to equity in the workplace, and in our everyday lives.
In a survey conducted with our community last month, we heard that people are looking for ways to contribute to racial equity and social justice, however the majority of people are feeling a bit stuck - not knowing where to start. And when asked what type of support is needed - one of the biggest areas of need was understanding one’s own unintentional bias.
To help support our community in this area of need, we’ve invited Sharon Miller, to help us better understand unconscious bias, how it develops and what we can do as individuals to become more aware and curious about how to evolve. Sharon has developed this approach in collaboration with scientists from the University of Wisconsin who’ve been working in the area of unconscious bias for over 10 years.
Our lofty goal is to improve how we all mix together and harness good intentions into personal actions that evolve our culture. Sharon will guide us through 4 exercises that can be practiced daily, over the course of a year. Benefits include, but are not limited to....
Increased curiosity and energy
More empathy for those who are different
Acceptance of complexity
More creativity
More optimism
Globally aware
Culturally innovative
Less fear, more fearlessness
