Understanding Our Unconscious Bias with Sharon Miller
In a survey conducted with our community last month, we heard that people are looking for ways to contribute to racial equity and social justice. However, the majority of people are feeling a bit stuck - not knowing where to start. And when asked what type of support is needed - one of the biggest areas of need was understanding one’s own unintentional bias.
To help support our community in this area of need, we’ve invited Sharon Miller, to help us better understand unconscious bias, how it develops and what we can do as individuals to become more aware and curious about how to evolve. Sharon has developed her approach in collaboration with scientists from the University of Wisconsin who’ve been working in the area of unconscious bias for over 10 years.
